Bam Aquino enters ‘Magic 12,’ Bong Revilla slips to 14th spot in official, partial COMELEC count

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 15) — Otso Diretso candidate Bam Aquino was the lone opposition bet to make it to the so-called Magic 12 in the first batch of votes officially tallied Tuesday night by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) convened as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC).

With his entry in the Top 12, former Senator and co-accused in the pork barrel scam Bong Revilla Jr. trailed in the 14th spot.

The current tally from the NBOC only accounts for 34 of 167 Certificates of Canvass as of 9 p.m. In the partial, unofficial count from the COMELEC transparency server with 95 percent of data transmitted, Revilla enjoyed the 10th spot and Aquino was shut out of the Top 12 in the 14th rank.

The partial and official result also affirmed the lead of the Top 6 candidates reelectionists Cynthia Villar and Grace Poe, former aide of President Rodrigo Duterte Bong Go, Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano, ex-Philippine National Police Chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.
